Minkowski 2-9 is a planetary nebula located 2,100 light-years from Earth, in the direction of Ophiuchus. It is a bipolar nebula with twin lobes of material emanating from a central star. It has inflated dramatically due to a fast stellar wind blowing out to the surrounding disk. [1280 × 1070]
